Children of single mothers receive CNY gifts

MIRI: More than 50 children of single mothers received ang paus from Assistant Minister of Communications Datuk Lee Kim Shim yesterday.

The simple presentation ceremony was held at the office of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Senadin in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.

Apart from presenting the ang paus, Lee who is also the chairman of SUPP Senadin also took the opportunity to have lunch with members of Miri Single Mothers’ Association.

In his short address, Lee said the CNY celebration is meaningful to single mothers and their children.

“This is the time they can be together and enjoy each other’s company,” he said.

Lee hoped the ang pau given to their children would lighten the burden of single mothers preparing for the CNY this Monday.
