MIRI: The Barisan Nasional (BN) is not being arrogant or disrespectful when it said the opposition had never done anything for the people, but was merely stating the facts.

“We don’t mean to belittle them by saying this, but these are facts,” said Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin.
He likened the opposition politicians to mushrooms appearing only after the rains and disappearing soon after.
“They never came up with something constructive, but merely misled the people with their empty promises and inflaming them to hate the ruling government.
“The BN government is active at all times and contribute a lot to the people, like in this Kampung Piasau Utara,” he said at the launching of the Rela Platoon in the village here yesterday.
The platoon has registered 171 volunteers among the villagers aged 16 years and above.
At the same function, Chin presented the membership certificates and two wheel chairs to Salud Halpi and Habibah Ubai.
Chia who spoke earlier pointed out to the many development projects the BN government had implemented as proof of its sincerity in serving the people.
Later Chia handed over grants to the Mosque, Neigbhourhood Watch Committee (RT) and the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) of the area.
Chin also handed grant to the JKKK.
Among those present at the launching ceremony were Datuk Sebastian Ting, political secretary to Chin, Rela Platoon chief – Captain Abu Manshor, Miri District Rela officer – Leutenant Colonel Abdul Rashid Ibrahim and his assistant – Major Banquallo Dee.
