1MALAYSIA CONCEPT THROUGH NASI LEMAK
Understanding 1Malaysia through NASI LEMAK
THERE have been recent calls for the movie ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0’ to be banned because it supposedly contains ‘negative and racist elements’, while some say that the movie should not be screened, considering the director’s (Namewee) past issues with the government of Malaysia.
Thankfully, the movie has not been banned, allowing the Eye and many others to actually watch this supposedly controversial film about Malaysians.
The movie is generally about a chef who, in his search for the perfect recipe for a rice dish, discovers himself and what it really means to be Malaysian.
Racist? The word racist does not describe ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0’. Those who think that it does, definitely need a lesson in the English language.
Does the movie depict some manner of racial attitude? Of course it does. It is, after all, about a dude who is so wrapped up in his own little world of beliefs, coming out to discover that he will basically not get anywhere with such an attitude – should he not adapt, ‘localise’ and mix with other ethnic groups.
And yes, the movie also parodied recent racist remarks, but all in good humour and with the intention to lead to lessons to be learned.
Those who claim that this is racist, are probably racists themselves, are in denial, unable to accept reality and narrow in their mindsets. After all, “Siapa makan cabi, nya yang terasa”.
The Eye feels that ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0’ is a must-watch for every Malaysian. The movie is mainly in Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese with Bahasa Malaysia, English, Manglish and Tamil. There are subtitles of course.
The Eye does not speak Mandarin, but understood and followed the movie very well. Any true Malaysian would appreciate the message that the production team is trying to get across through ‘Nasi Lemak’.
Fred Chong (producer), Namewee and their team have done an excellent job at featuring very real and typical attitudes found among some Malaysians, in a hilarious manner and with a budget of less than RM1 million.
They have also managed to use the essence of Malaysian food (a beautiful mix and balance of various ingredients from different ethnicities) to send a message that this is what it means to be a real Malaysian.
Datuk David Arumugam (Alleycats) in his role as an expert on Indian spices describes what is needed to attain harmony between races in the scene where he gives the lead character a lesson in spice blending.
There are many lessons to be learnt from the movie, first and foremost, on adapting, achieving balance and harmony through understanding and tolerance and what being Malaysian really means.
Also, about being ‘localised’ — who says you cannot sing in English to a Chinese tune or in a mix of other languages to a Bollywood tune?
And you learn not to judge a book by its cover – for example being Malay does not mean that you are not able to quote classical Chinese poetry in perfect Mandarin!
There are also claims that it is the producers of the movie (namely Namewee) who are using the ‘ban’ ruse as a publicity stunt for the movie. The Eye doubts that the production team needs such cheap publicity.
The movie features other big names such as Adibah Noor, Adflin Shauki, Patrick Teoh, Kenny and Chee and Reshmonu who each played their parts well in the movie. The Eye believes that despite it being a low budget movie, they were more than happy to be part of it for what it stood for – being Malaysian.
The Eye loves the way the movie pokes fun at recent scandals in Malaysia – in true sex, lies and videotape style. Eye bet the politicians who were involved in these scandals are themselves laughing at the parodies in the movie.
Malaysian produced horror films are also not exempt from being parodied in ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0’ – which makes it even more entertaining.
And yes, it also subtly features issues that are real and recent – getting 10A’s and not being offered a place for higher education, how almost everyone these days are on Facebook, problems with basic amenities, gangsterism, and a whole lot of other issues.
One would have to be sharp to catch on to these while watching the movie.
If anyone were to label a movie as a 1Malaysia movie, ‘Nasi Lemak 2.0’ would be it. It teaches us to laugh at ourselves. It makes us realise and accept the reality of our stereotypes and community related idiosyncrasies.
It makes us think – hey yeah … this is so true!
And it makes you appreciate where each and every one of us came from, our different ethnicities and how we are able to adapt to one another.
If anyone saw this movie in a negative light, hey, get surgery or something to correct your selfish small, narrow, constipated minds.

3 MADE SENIOR MINISTERS

KUCHING: Three ministers were made senior ministers in the new State Cabinet line-up unveiled by the Chief Minister yesterday, which also saw the appointment of seven new assistant ministers.
All appointments take effect tomorrow.
One notable feature of this reshuffle, as compared to many previous ones, is that none of the existing assistant ministers were dropped.
Those appointed as senior ministers are PRS president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, SPDP president Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, and SUPP deputy secretary-general Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh. The portfolios of all three of them remained at status quo, except for some changes in their responsibilities and functions.
The seven new assistant ministers, whose appointments were mostly to fill in the slots left vacant as a result of the last state election on April 16, were Julaihi Narawi (PBB-Sebuyau), chief political secretary to the Chief Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah (PBB-Asajaya), Robert Lawson Chuat Vincent Entering (PBB-Bukit Saban), Datu Len Talif Salleh (PBB-Belawai), Liwan Lagang (PRS-Belaga), Rosey Yunus (SPDP-Bekenu) and Dr Jerip Susil (SUPP-Bengoh).
In unveiling the new lineup at Wisma Bapa Malaysia at about 3.30pm yesterday, Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud also announced the creation of `Ministry of Welfare, Women and Family Development’ to be headed by Datuk Fatimah Abdullah.
She would have two assistants, namely Lawson, who will be taking care of welfare, and Rosey who will be taking care of early childhood education and family development.
Several ministries were renamed, with the Ministry of Social Development and Urbanisation becoming Ministry of Social Development; Ministry of Planning and Resources Management (Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment); Ministry of Environment and Public Health (Ministry of Local Government and Community Development); Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (Ministry of Housing); and Ministry of Tourism and Heritage (Ministry of Tourism).
Basically, there was no change to the portfolios held by the existing ministers but a few of them were given additional assistants in line with the changes to the roles and functions of their respective ministries.
As expected by political pundits, Taib did not fill the deputy chief minister post which fell vacant following the defeat of SUPP president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan in Piasau in the state election.
Among those present at the press conference were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Masing, Mawan and Wong.

MERDEKA DAY ORGANISED BY NGOs
‘Merdeka do best organised by NGOs, political parties’

KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s Independendence anniversary celebration should best be organised by non-governmental organisations (NGOs), political parties and voluntary bodies, and not only by the government, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.
He said the Merdeka anniversary was one auspicious occasion where all quarters regardless of race, religion and political ideology should gather to celebrate it.
“Unfortunately, in our country, not everybody feel the same way. They would rather let the Merdeka and other nationalistic programmes be handled by the government,” he said in an interview by Radio 24 at Wisma Bernama, here, yesterday.
Rais who is also the chairman of the 54th Merdeka celebration main organising committee, however, said it was no problem for the government to organise such programmes and activities as the celebration must go on.
He said this year’s celebration emphasised on flying the Jalur Gemilang (Malaysian flag) at commercial premises, offices and homes.
“If before, we gave out flags to be fixed to vehicles, this year we distribute them to be flown at commercial and office premises and houses.” On the emergence of the new media which were now popular with the public to obtain information, he said it showed a decline in interest in the print media.
However, he felt that this trend was only temporary as the print or traditional media would eventually regain ground.
“All over the world, the media is going through a transition period, which means they are being tested on usage, effectiveness and acceptance as a link for mankind,” he said. — Bernama

Most Malaysians Want to Work Abroad

Kuala Lumpur, 20 June, 2011: The majority of jobseekers want to work abroad, according to a survey conducted by JobStreet.com. Of the 700 over respondents, 17% are junior executives, 40% are senior executives, 29% are managers and 16% senior managers.
87% of those polled reported interest in working abroad. However, their level of seriousness in wanting to work abroad varies. A little under a third of the group is already actively seeking opportunities overseas. 30% are passively looking while another 30% are still considering the pros and cons of employment abroad.
The main reason for wanting to work abroad is to earn more money (42%), for career growth (24%), children’s education (13%), for travel opportunities (9%) and to follow their spouse abroad (3%) with the remaining citing other reasons for wanting to work abroad. This data confirms what the media has been revealing about brain drain in recent years as money, career growth and children’s education rank the highest in the survey.
Employees were also asked on their favourite destination for work and most are keen to work in Australia (24%) followed by Singapore (16%), UK (15%) and US (10%). About 8% were keen on China/Korea/Japan and 7% in New Zealand. Amongst senior managers however, the favourite destination is Singapore.
For their method of getting a job, the majority prefered to use recruitment firms and head hunting agencies while going through referrals and advertisement from newspaper and online sites each garnered about 17% of the votes.
When respondents were asked what would be the reason keeping them home if they are not interested in working abroad, half of the respondents cite family as the main reason. Only 2.4% said that they are staying here to contribute to national interest.
The survey findings were similar for both male and female respondents. About 700 employees participated in the survey, of which 60% were male and the rest female. The survey was carried out in May 2011 to seek the view of employees on their thoughts on working abroad.

‘Rally: Universities to decide fate of students’

KULIM: The Higher Education Ministry has decided not to interfere and let university administrations decide what action to take on students who were involved in the Bersih rally in Kuala Lumpur on July 9.
Its minister, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said any action to be taken on the students needed to follow the laws and regulations of their respective universities.
“The ministry will leave it to the universities to determine the appropriate punishment and I will wait for their reports,” he told reporters after a certificate and diploma presentation ceremony at the Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah Kulim Polytechnic’s (PTSB) 6th convocation, here yesterday.
Mohamed Khaled was asked to comment on reports that 21 students from several institutions of higher learning were arrested by police during the illegal rally.
Of the number, 14 were students from public institutions of higher learning including two from polytechnics and one from the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM).
Seven others were from private universities, including a student from Kolej Universiti Islam Selangor (KUIS) and two students studying in Egypt. — Bernama

KUCHING: Movement for Change Sarawak (MoCS) plans to hold a rally ‘A walk for democracy and reforms’, here on Aug 13 from 2pm to 5pm here and participants are encouraged to wear red T-shirts.
MoCS leader Francis Siah said the movement’s leaders had decided to tone down the event — originally planned as a protest against Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Taib to walk for democracy and reforms after a meeting in Kuala Lumpur recently.
He said MoCS would apply for a police permit for the event and assured the police that the rally would be peaceful.
Siah added the organisers would heed any reasonable advice and conditions from the police and extend its fullest cooperation to all law enforcement agencies.
“We hope to gather either at Padang Merdeka or Kuching Waterfront and then walk to either Reservoir Park or Museum Grounds where we will hold the rally.
“By 5pm, everyone should disperse. This is our commitment to the police,” he said.
The movement will issue a 10-point declaration at the rally.
MoCS stressed that the rally was solely a citizen’s initiative with no political affiliation or involvement.
Siah stressed that MoCS would not campaign for support from any established groups for the rally as they preferred spontaneous and voluntary support from those who earnestly wanted to help bring about genuine reforms.
MoCS also encouraged those who would not be able to come here and those living in other parts of the state to organise similar walks in solidarity with the movement.

Muhyiddin stresses federal government will keep all election promises to Sarawak
BETONG: The federal government will honour all promises made to the state in the recent state election, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said in his speech at the national-level Gawai Dayak open house held at Rumah Wilson Begat Bakir in Penom, Ulu Paku here yesterday.
“We have promised to develop the state’s infrastructure and economy. We will fulfill all promises made by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak himself, myself and all cabinet ministers.” Muhyiddin added that the cabinet had appointed the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas to go through the list of projects promised.
“Uggah will go through the lists, look at the cost, decides the priority and when to call for tenders and other details. As a matter of fact some of these projects are currently being implemented,” he said.
Muhyiddin added that the government was serious about transforming the government and the country economy.
“Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has initiated programmes like the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
“We will hold roadshows to explain and promote these throughout the country so that the people especially those outside the feFderal capital will know them better especially, effects and impacts to them,” he said.
Muhyiddin also called on the people to remain united to ensure peace and security in the country and took to task a small minority of the people in the country who disregarded the laws, the constitution, the King and the majority of Malaysians who wanted peace.
“They had taken to the street to demonstrate despite being repeatedly told not to do so as their actions would cause hardship and inconveniences to others.
They demonstrated because they wanted a fair and clean election but the opposition managed to win 16 seats out of the 71 in the last state election and this proved that our election had been fair and transparent, he said.
On the Gawai Dayak festival, Muhyiddin said it was not just a mere celebration based on belief or religion but one that was enjoyed by all Malaysians.
He also agreed with Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim’s earlier suggestion that traditional longhouses more than 50 years old be declared national heritage buildings.
“However, longhouse chiefs and the residents must first agree to the suggestion,” he said.
Meanwhile, the deputy prime minister announced the approval of a RM350,000 fund for the construction of the SIB church in Betong, and another sum of RM4.5million for a conservation and breeding programme involving the ‘terubok’ fish at five locations.
He also announced that 900 1Malaysia netbooks would be distributed to deserving students in the Betong parliamentary constituency.
About 3,000 people attended the Gawai celebration and among them were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Uggah.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum who is the joint organising chairman of the open house, members of the state cabinets and elected representatives.

“We have promised to develop the state’s infrastructure and economy. We will fulfill all promises made by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak himself, myself and all cabinet ministers.” Muhyiddin added that the cabinet had appointed the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas to go through the list of projects promised.
“Uggah will go through the lists, look at the cost, decides the priority and when to call for tenders and other details. As a matter of fact some of these projects are currently being implemented,” he said.
Muhyiddin added that the government was serious about transforming the government and the country economy.
“Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has initiated programmes like the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) and the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP).
“We will hold roadshows to explain and promote these throughout the country so that the people especially those outside the feFderal capital will know them better especially, effects and impacts to them,” he said.
Muhyiddin also called on the people to remain united to ensure peace and security in the country and took to task a small minority of the people in the country who disregarded the laws, the constitution, the King and the majority of Malaysians who wanted peace.
“They had taken to the street to demonstrate despite being repeatedly told not to do so as their actions would cause hardship and inconveniences to others.
They demonstrated because they wanted a fair and clean election but the opposition managed to win 16 seats out of the 71 in the last state election and this proved that our election had been fair and transparent, he said.
On the Gawai Dayak festival, Muhyiddin said it was not just a mere celebration based on belief or religion but one that was enjoyed by all Malaysians.
He also agreed with Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim’s earlier suggestion that traditional longhouses more than 50 years old be declared national heritage buildings.
“However, longhouse chiefs and the residents must first agree to the suggestion,” he said.
Meanwhile, the deputy prime minister announced the approval of a RM350,000 fund for the construction of the SIB church in Betong, and another sum of RM4.5million for a conservation and breeding programme involving the ‘terubok’ fish at five locations.
He also announced that 900 1Malaysia netbooks would be distributed to deserving students in the Betong parliamentary constituency.
About 3,000 people attended the Gawai celebration and among them were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu Numpang, Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Uggah.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Culture Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum who is the joint organising chairman of the open house, members of the state cabinets and elected representatives.

1. Diadakan TANPA PERMIT;
2. Dianjurkan oleh sebuah persatuan NGO yang tidak sah berdaftar;
3. Merupakan cubaan merusuh di tempat awam;
4. Ianya bersifat mengancam keselamatan negara; dan
5. Ianya bersifat mengancam keselamatan awam.
Mengetahui jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh saspek merupakan langkah pertama untuk membuat penahan ke atas saspek.

PENAHANAN DI BUAT OLEH ORANG AWAM YANG PADA PANDANGANNYA SASPEK MELAKUKAN KESALAHAN YANG TIDAK BOLEH DI JAMIN DAN KESALAHAN BOLEH DI TANGKAP.
Contohnya seperti menahan mana-mana saspek yang menyertai perhimpunan haram BERSIH 2.0 yakni orang yang memakai baju T Kuning

CARA MENAHAN
Seksyen 15 (1)
Anda cuma perlu menyentuh atau memastikan saspek berada dalam keadaan tertahan tubuh badannya.
Seksyen 15 (2)
Jika saspek menggunakan kekerasan untuk melawan penahanan dan/atau cuba mengelak daripada di tahan, anda dibenarkan menggunakan kekerasan yang sewajarnya, maknanya janganlah anda mencederakan mana-mana anggota tubuh badan saspek, cukup anda menjadikan sasapek tidak berdaya bergerak dan melawan.
RINGKASAN.
Kepada mana-mana anggota PATRIOT, PERKASA, PEMUDA UMNO, NGO dan anggota masyarakat lain terutama yang menjadi rakan cop, adalah dinasihatkan anda mengambil tanggungjawab MEMBANTU anggota POLIS.
Jika anda berniat untuk membantu mana-mana anggota POLIS nanti, adalah dinasihati anda memohon kebenaran secara lisan dan. atau bertulis daripada KETUA BALAI POLIS, KETUA POLIS DAERAH dan mana-mana naggota Polis berpangkat Inspektor ke atas yang bertanggungjawab di dalam kawasan yang tertentu.
Jika kebenaran diberikan, barulah anda lebih selesa dan selamat membuat penangkapan ke atas mana-mana saspek yang menyertai perhimpunan BERSIH 2.0.
Jika anda melakukan penangkapan ke atas mana-mana saspek, anda hanya perlu berkata seperti berikut :
SAYA, (NAMA PENUH) TELAH DIBERIKAN KEIZINAN SECARA LISAN OLEH ANGGOTA POLIS ( SEBUTKAN NAMA & NO ANGGOTA POLIS YANG MEMBERIKAN KEIZINAN KEPADA ANDA) UNTUK MEMBUAT TANGKAPAN / MENAHAN ANDA MENGIKUT SEKSYEN 27 KERANA SAYA SYAKKI ANDA MELAKUKAN KESALAHAN MENYERTAI PERHIMPUNAN BERSIH DAN MEMAKAI BAJU T SHIRT BERSIH .
Sebaik-baiknya anda berada dalam jarak 50 meter ke 60 meter dari mana-mana anggota Polis yang berdekatan dan anggota tersebut dapat melihat anda membuat tangkapan di bawah seksyen 27 Kanun Acara Jenayah.
Sebaik saja anda membuat tangkapan, serahkan dengan seberapa segera saspek kepada mana-mana anggota Polis yang bertugas dan sebutkan perkataan ini dnegan jelas .

Our digital promotion, marketing and branding effort is entirely different from the political Facebook Fanpage that costs nothing to establish.

The success of a digital campaign is reflected in the number of fans joining the Fanpage. We have been very successful in the first campaign i.e the Citrawarna 2011 which has todate, recorded 24, 736 fans, thereby providing Tourism Malaysia with 24, 736 potential tourists; all these gotten within four (4) weeks only.
This is just the beginning of our entire intensive digital campaign; the fan-base is still rising and looks set to achieve its KPI of minimum 120,000 fans by end of December 2011.
In comparison with the Penang Tourism Facebook which DAP said is for free (which is the truth) as this is because they did not execute any campaigns in the Fanpage.
Tourism is the fifth economic industry bringing to the country RM56billion last year and Malaysia is ranked 9th position of the most travelled to destination in the world by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNTWO).
Thus, all our marketing and promotional efforts must be professionally done and this include our digital campaigns as they are not merely about information but about persuasion, marketing and branding unlike the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia’s Facebook Fanpage which is meant to inform thus it is free.
We, in Tourism Malaysia will not allow ourselves to be sabotaged by leaders who choose to twist the truths and destroy Tourism Malaysia’s efforts in digital marketing promotions and branding.
Today, tourists’ behavior had changed to consuming information from social media and online channels. Therefore, any organizations, including neighbouring National Tourism Organisations (NTO’s) have been quick to realize the potential of social media such as Facebook in their marketing strategies. To cite a few, the Philippines Tourism Department has set aside 100 million pesos or RM7million in their 2011 budget, for their Facebook venture (source: newmedia.com.ph).
The Australia Tourism Board has allocated AUD150million over the next three years for their social media initiative (source: socialmedianews.com.au.
Nationmultimedia.com also reported that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is boosting its online promotional activities in its efforts to maintain Thailand’s position as a leading tourist destination. The agency is to increase its budget for promotions via online channels to 40% (from 30% in 2010) of its total marketing budget. (source: nationmultimedia.com).
The beauty of digital platform is that information distributed is the most-up-to-date and very dynamic. It allows us to be more flexible and to promote the nearest events. Now, it is possible for even local tourism operators to feed tourism information in the social media world.
The Fanpage sets as its KPI and aims to achieve the following targets:
- An average of 20,000 fans per campaign
- Minimum 120,000 fans by the end of December 2011
- To increase traffic and encourage domestic and international tourism
- To act as a promotional tool to disseminate information for Tourism Malaysia, Ministry of Tourism and Government.
- Tourism Malaysia and the Ministry of Tourism will be able to communicate directly with at least 120,000 fans (Malaysians and foreigners) by the end of the year through the Fanpage and Database compiled from the applications.

Rosmah fully claim for her oversea trips???
To be a women is not easy. Women plays many role and wear many hats. A women needs to play a role as a good daughter to her parents, an understanding wife to her husband, a caring mom to her kids nevertheless as a hardworking and proactive employee to her company. There is a quote saying that Behind Every Successful Man, There is A Woman.
Recently rakyat complaint a lot about Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor One of the example is she can fully claim for her oversea trips just because she is PM's wife? Again, “massive shopping sprees”??? the opposition demanding a full and detailed accounting of her expenses.
And Rosmah explained ..
Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor berkata beliau tidak terganggu dengan komen negatif yang dilemparkan terhadap beliau berhubung lawatannya ke seberang laut.
Isteri Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak itu berkata semua lawatannya diatur selepas beliau menerima jemputan daripada kerajaan atau menteri wanita sesebuah negara yang terlibat.
Bercakap kepada media Malaysia pada akhir kunjungan empat hari ke Oman pada Rabu, Rosmah berkata beliau akan membuat lawatan itu apabila diperlukan bagi menyampaikan ucaptama di majlis-majlis tertentu.
"Jadi, biar mereka kata apa yang mereka nak kata, tapi saya rasa bahawa lawatan ini sangat berfaedah bukan sahaja kepada kita tetapi kepada semua rakyat Malaysia tanpa mengira kaum, agama atau malah parti apapun yang mereka wakili," katanya menyentuh mengenai lawatannya terutama ke Oman.
"Saya berada di sini bukan untuk mewakili seksyen tertentu masyarakat tetapi kami di sini mewakili rakyat Malaysia," kata Rosmah menjelaskan bahawa beliau dan anggota rombongannya diterima baik di Muscat dan pemerintah Oman, Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, sendiri mengambil berat lawatan itu.
Berucap di sidang antarabangsa
Dalam lawatan itu, Rosmah disertai beberapa anggota Badan Amal dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-isteri Menteri dan Timbalan Menteri (Bakti).
Beliau merupakan tetamu kerajaan Oman, kali pertama dalam tempoh 20 tahun seorang kenamaan Malaysia diberi keistimewaan itu.
Rosmah juga mengulas mengenai lawatannya ke Arab Saudi baru-baru ini di mana beliau memberi ucapan dalam satu persidangan antarabangsa mengenai pengurusan kualiti menyeluruh dalam pendidikan.
"Saya dimaklumkan di Riyadh bahawa saya dijemput bukan hanya kerana saya isteri seorang perdana menteri. Apa yang nyata, mereka telah menyelidik dan mengkaji untuk melihat apa yang saya telah sumbangkan kepada pendidikan kanak-kanak terutama bagi yang berumur di bawah empat tahun dan begitu juga dengan kanak-kanak yang berbakat.
"Dan saya sangat gembira bahawa malah di Arab Saudi, mereka telah mengiktiraf kenyataan bahawa adalah sangat penting memberi perhatian kepada pendidikan awal dan jagaan ke atas kanak-kanak dan juga kanak-kanak yang berbakat," katanya.
Kepada pengkritik beliau, Rosmah berkata: "Bagi saya, jika mereka mahu bersungut, saya tidak ada isu. Biarkan saja. Saya hanya lakukan ini sebagai isteri seorang pemimpin.
